Armed Opposition under Siege of Iranian Troops
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi Wednesday said members of armed anti-revolution groups are under the siege of the Islamic Republic's armed forces in northwestern Iran.
The General further warned the Iraqi Kurdish officials to expel from their country armed bandits and anti-Iranian groups which, he said, are affiliated to the aliens.
"Otherwise, the IRGC is prepared to chase and disband the enemies even beyond Iranian borders in a bid to defend the country," he underscored.
Rahim Safavi pointed out that similar practical measures had been taken during Saddam's reign, and added that Iranian troops have killed three commanders of the group 'Pjak' during clashes in the Sarvi region in the vicinity of Iran's northwestern town of Orumieh on Wednesday.
"Now that their policies have ended in failure in Afghanistan and Iraq, they are seeking to project their problems and they say Iran has grown influential," he said in clear reference to western countries, the United States in particular.
